brit awards rebrand

the brit awards board have instigated a rebrand of the iconic award.

‘the new form of the trophy also becomes a core component of the brit awards visual identity. its outline forms the centre of a ‘b’ to create a simple and strong marque. and continuing the idea of the blank canvas of the trophy, this unique graphic shape provides a ‘creative container’ for changing imagery, reflecting the diversity of talent celebrated by the brits.’

‘the trophy…..could reflect a more iconic status by streamlining and distilling its shape, and become a blank canvas for creativity by casting it in white. every year, an acclaimed and notable briton will be invited to take ownership of the trophy in its new pared down form, re-imagining it to convey their own artistic vision.’

this year Vivienne Westwood has been asked to turn her hand to redesigning the award. the sketch below is a teaser of what is to come.
