studio toogood has re-dsigned the new york flagship store of the rug company on wooster st. in reference to the traditional tapestry rooms found in traditional grand country houses they commissioned their own tapestry based around archive photographs found in the image libraries of country life, conde nast and the national trust. the tapestry won’t be finished until 2011 so in the meantime the space showcases full-sized digital print graffitied with paint.

john pawson//design museum

the john pawson show is starting to wind up. you’ve got two weeks left before his ‘plain space’ show closes.

‘often described as a 'minimalist' he is known for a rigorous process of reduction, that creates designs of simplicity, grace and visual clarity. at the heart of the exhibition is a site-specific 1:1 full-sized installation designed by pawson to offer a direct experience of his work - the first such installation at the museum. plain space celebrates pawson's career to date with models, film, photographs and architectural elements and includes some of his most important projects including the cistercian monastery of our lady of nový dvůr in the czech republic, the sackler crossing at the royal botanic gardens, kew and the calvin klein store on madison avenue, new york.’

abella honey

abella means bee in galleo, the language spoken in the region of galicia, where this Spanish honey is from. three flavours make up the range featuring honey with royal jelly, pollen and propolis. the artisan bevelled effect jars feels equally as natural.

fashionably graphic

graphic design for fashion is a new book, which showcases the work of graphic designers for fashion designers from high-street to high-end. examples include identity design, packaging, look books, invitations and more. unlike most other markets, the fashion industry showcases itself regularly as clockwork every six months. fashion brands have to reinvent themselves every collection and yet stay true to its values and identity. compiled by jay hess and simone pasztorek, designers at london-based studio byboth, it features examples of (from top) eley kishimoto, acne studios, kenzo, paul smith, viktor & rolf, bernhard willhelm and many others.
